GLS City Boss.jpg

GLS City Boss

Boss came off the track and into home life way smoother than we had expected. Even though he was a racer, he has gone to a full-time professional napper. Boss is perfectly happy with a couple short walks a day, play time outside, then it’s right back to lounging on a comfy bed. At first, he was nervous by the bed until he realized it was something soft for him to cuddle up on. He’s absolutely loved being able to have his own basket of toys, bully bones, and play time in the yard! Although he was very shy at first, he has warmed up fairly quickly and has really shown his personality with us. Boss has learned what stairs are (and how to go up them without freezing), how to frolic through tall grass, and be a great foster brother. He’s such a good mannered boy! He’s allowed us to clean his face, paws, and give him a bath with zero issues. He’s such a kind and wonderful boy who’s going to make someone so incredibly happy, even with him squeaking his toys at any given time throughout the night! Fostering a retired racing greyhound is honestly one of those things that sounds a little intimidating at first. Once you do it though, you realize how easy and rewarding it actually is. It is such an important part of their transition too, you’re helping them learn what it means to be a “man’s best friend.” At the end of the day, you’re giving a dog a soft landing after their racing career. And in return, you get this loving, couch potato who just wants to hang out and be part of your everyday. It’s such a raw, and beautiful experience!

Rockstar1.jpg

Accumulates

Rock Star is a fun-loving boy with a friendly and easy-going nature. He can be a little excited when first meeting new friends, but he settles quickly and shows lovely, polite manners once relaxed. He has been assessed with small dogs and, after an initial burst of excitement, interacted appropriately and respectfully. This suggests he could live with a small dog companion with continued guidance. Rock Star has been exposed to children of all ages and handled these interactions well, with a home of 5 years and over recommended. He has been tested with a cat, and tested tolerant.   Any introductions would need to be gradual and supported. With a low to medium prey drive and good ability to redirect, Rock Star would suit a variety of homes and will make a fun, affectionate companion.  Rock Star was born January 16, 2023.

Maxine1.jpg

Maxine Magic

Maxine is a happy, playful girl who brings a fun and energetic vibe wherever she goes. She loves interaction and would suit a home that can match her enthusiasm while continuing to guide her with clear, calm handling. Maxine has shown mixed results with small dogs. She displayed nice,
appropriate interactions with a Cavoodle and Italian Greyhound, however was a little too interested in a French Bulldog. With further exposure and training, she has the potential to improve and would benefit from ongoing guidance in this area. Maxine has not yet been tested with  children, so any introductions would need to be done gradually with support and training. With a medium prey drive and the ability to redirect, Maxine would suit an active
home committed to continuing her training and helping her build on her positive behaviors. She will make a fun and affectionate companion in the right environment.             Maxine was born July 17, 2021.

Chloe has been exposed to children of all ages and handled these interactions well, with a home of 5 years and over recommended. With a low prey drive and relaxed temperament, Chloe would make a wonderful, easy addition to a variety of loving homes.  She was born February 11, 2024.
